Tom Zinninger has been an active saxophonist and music educator in the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana areas for the past 15 years. Equally comfortable in a number of styles, his musical experience has ranged from combo and big band jazz to classical chamber and orchestral music. Zinninger's performance credits include the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, the Frank Simon Band, the Chamber Winds of Louisville, the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, the RL Big Band and the Don Kreckel Orchestra. As a soloist, he has premiered new arrangements for the saxophone at the 16th World Saxophone Congress in St. Andrews Scotland as well as the 2012 and 2014 North American Saxophone Alliance National Conferences. Zinninger currently holds a faculty position at Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH where he teaches applied saxophone and directs the jazz ensemble. He has also served both as a graduate assistant and on the faculty at the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) in Cincinnati. In addition to saxophone and jazz ensemble, Zinninger has also taught college level courses in jazz improvisation and jazz appreciation. He currently holds a private teaching studio in the Cincinnati area. Zinninger received a Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Louisville, and a Masters of Music in Jazz Studies and Doctorate of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance from CCM.
