My name is Garin Webb and I am an active professional saxophonist and educator in the Cincinnati area. I have taught privately saxophone, flute, and clarinet at St. Xavier High School, Walnut Hills High School, Indian Hill High School, and out of my home. Many of my private students have gone on to study at some of the best music schools in the country, like the University of Miami Frost School of Music, Northwestern University, Ohio State, and Oberlin Conservatory. I have performed classical recitals throughout the Ohio region both as a soloist and chamber musician. The late Kent State composer John Ferrito composed “Dialogues II, for Alto Saxophone and String Quartet” as a commission from myself and Cuarteto America in 2000. From 1998 to 2012 I was Adjunct Instructor at the University of Dayton where I led jazz small groups, lectured on jazz history and arranging; coached saxophone sectionals and saxophone quartets, and taught private jazz improvisation lessons. I have also taught at Mt. St. Joseph University and Northern Kentucky University. Currently, I direct the jazz ensemble and am professor of saxophone at Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH. My jazz quintet, Crackpot Theory, released our eponymous CD, “Crackpot Theory,” in 2012. I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Ray Charles, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Frank Sinatra Jr., The Temptations, the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and trumpeters Bobby Shew and John Faddis and many more. I am a member of many diverse groups around Cincinnati, like the Blue Wisp Big Band Soulpocket, Pat Kelly’s PsychoAcoustic Orchestra, Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, and the Latin band Tropicoso. Education: Doctor of Musical Arts, Saxophone Performance College Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati 2016 Master of Music, Saxophone Performance College Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati 1997 Bachelor of Music, J
