Born in Korea, Canadian pianist has won several major national piano competitions, including Hankuk-ilbo, Eum-Yeon, Eumak Chun-Choo in her native country. Ms. Kim was invited to perform with the Polish Chopin Orchestra as a soloist and she played Mozart piano concerto in A-major Op.16 at the age of 12. She was actively participated various festivals outside Korea. She participated in Courchevel Summer Camps in France in 1996 and 1999, where she had master classes with world-renowned pianists and pedagogue Andre Gorog and Pascal Nemirovski. During her study in the most prestigious music school in Korea, 2001, she was invited to study with Leonid Zaichik and Joya Sapiton at the one of the most prestigious in the world, Special Music School-Lyceum for Gifted Children of Saint-Petersburg conservatory. During her study in Russia, she actively performed in different venues in Saint-Petersburg, and received the highest mark in graduation exam. In 2004, Ms.Kim’s family immigrated to Vancouver, she competed and won numerous awards and scholarships in various music festivals, including the Kiwanis Festival, Langley Community Music Festival, and Russian Music Festival. In 2007, Ms. Kim started a dual degree program at University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Psychology and Physiology), and Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Eugene Skovorodnikov. She is the recipient of many scholarships from UBC including presidential entrance scholarship. Then, she became accepted to Master’s program with scholarship at Mcgill University under Kyoko Hashimoto. After her Master’s, she received artist diploma at Universite de Montreal. Ms. Kim was active participants for national international competitions and festivals. In 2014, she is a prize winner of Vancouver Women’s Musical Society, and selected in many Dr. Luis Sigall competition, San Jose international competition, and Prix d’europe.
