Noted for his "impeccable pitch, attention to detail, nuance, and musicianship," flutist Isaiah Postenrieder enjoys a budding career in music performance and education. He is currently completing his Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). A passionate educator, Isaiah teaches private flute and piccolo lessons in the Cincinnati area and coaches flute sections for local schools. In addition, Isaiah is a volunteer and substitute teacher for MYCincinnati, an El Sistema style program in Cincinnati’s Price Hill neighborhood. Isaiah has helped students prepare for “Superior” performances at Solo and Ensemble Festivals, solo appearances in Cincinnati and Japan, and scholarship auditions. Isaiah believes while hard work and discipline are imperative to success, every musician must also learn the skills of patience and self-compassion for long-term growth. Also a devoted performer, Isaiah has performed with the Starling Chamber Orchestra and the Bach Ensemble of Calvary. He has also appeared on the Music for Food Cincinnati/CCM chamber music series. You can catch Isaiah in the pit orchestras for many Cincinnati-area theaters, including Northern Kentucky University and Mount Notre Dame Theatre. In 2017, he received 3rd Prize in the Central Ohio Flute Association's Collegiate Division Competition. This summer, Isaiah will be a scholarship student at the Fresno Orchestra Summer Academy.
