I am so lucky to be able to do what I love everyday.....to share my love for the gift of music for 40 years. As Plato said, “Music gives a soul to the universe, Wings to the mind, Flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” I was so fortunate to have many wonderful teachers. One, a professor with three doctorates of music, who studied from two lines of teachers stemming from the well known Johann Sebastian Bach, a teacher himself. And several other accomplished teachers as well. While studying at Kellners Studios, Mary Kellner, owner/senior teacher held a meeting with my parents and myself when I was 10 years of age. She asked if I ever considered becoming a teacher or hold a profession in music when I became older. I loved practicing and progressing and knew from as early as I can remember I always wanted to be involved in music. With the approval of my parents, Mrs. Kellner enrolled me in a correspondence piano program in theory and piano performance through University of St. Louis. As college students have, I too had quarterly and yearly finals. I began teaching at Kellners Studios at the age of 14 and continued teaching through high school as an Assistant Piano Teacher. By the time I was a senior in high school, I had almost a full time teaching schedule in my parents home. Ages 4 thru 70s. I structure individualized lesson plans for each student, crafted to be fun yet challenging, incorporating theory, scales, arpeggios, chords, repertoire, technique and music interpretation. Through my individualized lesson plans my students learn to develop creativity, increase learning abilities, foster confidence, poise and self esteem, as well as develop goal setting. I help my students achieve their goals, whether preparing for recitals, auditions, competitions, and auditions for acceptance into schools of music at the college level. Some of my students have gone on to have successful professional music careers. I have a concentration on classical music, whatever you wish to learn I incorporate into lessons.
